De Arcadia Vogellamp is speciaal ontworpen om vogels in gevangenschap te voorzien van een kunstmatige maar essentiële bron van ultraviolet (UV) licht.
Het gebruik van een lichtbron die het UV-gehalte van de zon nabootst, biedt veel voordelen, waaronder een betere gezondheid, en vogels nemen hun omgeving waar zoals ze dat in de natuur doen. De Vogellamp bevordert natuurlijk gedrag en vaak een betere voortplanting.
In tegenstelling tot standaard fluorescentielampen, gebruikt Arcadia's Bird Lamp UV-emitterende fosforen om de spectrale verdeling van de zon na te bootsen.12% van de totale output wordt uitgestraald als UVA en 2,4% als UVB.
