Seed Mix, Grass & Bird Mix:
I made this unique blend because many blends contain seeds that are unnecessary, but also have a detrimental effect on the health of goldfinches. Many mixtures contain seeds, also for the price ratio, which is not good for goldfinches. This way, you end up with a cheaper mix, but totally disproportionate to your bird's health. Take for example cheap rapeseed, which actually causes liver problems in goldfinches! Or the black seed, an oilseed that birds like to eat, but is completely unsuitable due to its high fat content, which causes problems for goldfinches.

The mix consists of seeds that contain high quality seeds (freshness). It's unfortunately quite different, but it's something I find very important !! Seeds covered in dust are partly due to the seeds being old and too dry and therefore of poor quality. Seeds that produce dust are actually seeds that have begun the process of decomposition.
Mixtures that contain a lot of dust cause, for example, respiratory infections "mycoplasmosis", etc.
This mixture is composed of:
Dust-free seeds! (when you open the bag you can already smell the freshness).
No harmful and greasy seeds (which will cause liver problems).
Exclusive seeds that are not normally even found in a standard mix.
Dried oregano and moringa leaves.
Here's a brief explanation of the seeds in this unique blend:
White Perilla Seed: is anti-inflammatory, especially for the intestines and is a natural antioxidant. It increases strength, has a good fat content and is rich in fiber that is easy for the intestines to digest. Great for young birds.
Small hemp seeds: contain the most common omega 3,6,9 fats that are completely harmless to birds, all other hemp (the medium and large variant) are much cheaper but not suitable for our birds.
Chicory seed: The seed has a high content of the amino acid lysine. For birds, the effect of cleaning the intestines and liver with chicory is welcome. Many birds regularly suffer from problems with the intestines, kidneys and liver. We can enjoy this effect thanks to chicory seeds. This also applies to most of the other effects of chicory, such as promoting digestion, fighting intestinal worms, purifying the blood, and promoting blood circulation.
White Seed: White seeds are packed with carbohydrates and healthy fats. This ensures good condition for the birds. White seeds also contain additional amino acids.
Grass seeds: rich in nutrients and energy, especially during the breeding season and winter months.
White lettuce seed: a seed that birds also like to eat in the wild, the seed contains many good properties and acids. Among other things, it ensures a good intestinal condition.
Sesame seeds: Sesame seeds are rich in vitamins and minerals including: manganese, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, iron and selenium. Sesame seeds also contain fiber and protein. Sesame seeds contain a large amount of vitamins from the B vitamin complex: B3, B11, B1, B6 and B2. In addition, it contains vitamin E. Sesame seeds also protect the liver.
Yellow flaxseed: Flaxseed is a good source of energy for birds. It contains a high percentage of omega 3, which is believed to promote the development of bird feathers. Flaxseed is therefore given to birds, especially in winter, when the animals find less food. The amino acid profile of flaxseed is favorable, especially the arginine content is high. Flaxseeds have a positive effect on the plumage of birds and are indispensable during the moulting period.
Millet: The most important substances in millet are the amino acids, the essential amino acids needed. These cannot be produced by the bird itself. These must therefore be present in the diet. A bird needs about 20 amino acids for the formation of body proteins. The bird cannot produce all the necessary amino acids on its own; These amino acids (10 in number) must be added through the diet. If any of these amino acids are not sufficiently present in the diet, a physical deficiency occurs. With all its consequences on the health of the bird. The young grow poorly or not at all, the moulting of the sticks (permanent moulting) and breeding results are not available.
Micro black sunflower: Contains a lot of vitamin E and selenium, good for reproduction. Among the amino acids contained in sunflower seeds, one of the most important is methionine. Methionine is really necessary for the growth of young animals and the production of eggs.
Chia seeds: a super source of protein, calcium, and gel-like protective dietary fiber for the stomach and intestines. Chia contains five times more calcium than milk, and its iron content is higher than that of spinach. It is rich in high-quality vegetable proteins, omega-3 fatty acids (especially linolenic acid), Vit C, Thiamine, Riboflavin. Chia seeds for birds are a good source of soluble dietary fiber. These small seeds work against diarrhea and are important for healthy digestion.
Milk thistle seed: is a very good anti-liver and purifying seed, it also colors the mask !! Please note that this is the light variant, which is not the case in many blends, as the dark variant is too hard and simply cannot be eaten.
Golden Seed of Pleasure: The good properties are: increases the desire to feed the young, improves condition, makes feathers shine better and promotes digestion. The effect on condition and plumage is attributed to the high content of amino acids and fatty acids.
Fennel seeds: Fennel seeds contain several antioxidants. These substances remove harmful radicals from the bird's body. This means that fennel seeds protect against infections. Supports digestion and contains many vitamins and minerals.
Anise seed: anise seed is immunostimulating, acts and above all increases white blood cells (lymphocytes). Anise should have an antifungal and especially anti-candid effect. Has a positive effect on the stomach and intestinal tract. Anise seed is used as a digestive aid, it facilitates digestion, anise has an expectorant effect. Anise also stimulates appetite and kills bacteria.
Carrot seeds: contain a lot of fiber (easily digestible) and nutrients, while being low in calories.
The seed is also rich in beta-carotene, good for bird color. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant and is converted into vitamin A in the body.
Basil Seed: It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, contains antioxidants and flavonoids. Has antifungal properties to fight infections. Can fight intestinal parasites (worms, coccidiosis). Basil is also a good source of calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, copper, zinc, vitamins A, C, and K. Basil contains the ingredient eugenol, which provides the antibacterial. effect. . Eugenol inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria such as Shigella, Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli, and Yersinia enterocolitica. These bacteria are known to cause gastrointestinal infections and diarrhea. In addition, the seed is full of fiber (especially soluble fiber). Fiber can contribute to gut health. The seed contains a high content of polysaccharides with a high prebiotic effect. Tender basil seed is very important, especially for young birds.
Dried oregano leaves: antifungal, rich in vitamins and minerals. Prevents intestinal diseases and inhibits bacteria.
Dried moringa leaves: the leaves contain beta-carotene, are rich in minerals, but also rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, B complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B11). Vitamins C, D, E, and K.
