UVB allows birds to synthesize vitamin D3 for proper calcium metabolism, which is necessary for normal growth, maintaining strong bones, and egg production.
UVA rays are visible to birds, allowing them to recognize mates, locate food, and identify different species. Without UVA, birds are essentially color blind!
The companion lamp (Aviansun 5.0) is not included in this box.
